It was Good Friday at the 1985 Sydney Royal Easter Show.
A Bertie Beetle bag, second only in lameness to the Sunnyboy showbag, had become jammed in the hydraulics of THE HURRICANE, resulting in life threatening injuries to a schoolies week group from Dubbo College for the Performing Arts.
Some 40 years later, archeologists examining the defunct fun ride's burnt out gearbox discovered the Bertie Beetle Sample Bag, intact and containing a mysterious document, instructions for a recorded wireless radio show called a "podcast".
"Go forth," bade its dot matrix text, "and collect all those classic Aussie/Kiwi riffs so that they may live on after the Millenium Bug plague of the earlly 21st Century."
Thus, the Sample Baggers Podcast was born.
